When I’m looking for inspiration, motivation or just need a mental break from work, I turn to TED Talks. All are 20 minutes or less, or even less if you watch them on 1.5x or 2x speed like I do, which is the perfect amount of time for a quick break.
I often quote stories I’ve heard in a Ted Talk or recite a statistic from one, using it to justify a new marketing tactic I’m proposing. And once I find one I like, I tend to watch it every year or so its ideas stay fresh in my mind.
A huge part of this blog/website is to demonstrate how I think, lead and execute, but another component is collecting resources I love to use so I can find them easily. Today I’m focusing on the ladder.
For now, due to lack of time, I’m not going to elaborate on what I like about each video. I plan to come back and add key takeaways from each video someday. But for now, here is the list:
1. How Great Leaders Inspire Action, Simon Sinek
2. Your Elusive Creative Genius, Elizabeth Gilbert
3. The Happy Secret to Better Work, Shawn Anchor
4. The Puzzle of Motivation, Dan Pink
5. Why Sneakers are a Great Investment, Josh Luber
6. The Surprising Habits of Original People, Adam Grant
7. Why 30 is not the new 20, Meg Jay
