In 2009, while working for PegasusAblon I launched LowerOakLawn.com (rebranded to DallasDesignDistrict.com in 2010), a blog dedicated to life in the Dallas Design District, covering art, interior design, events, restaurants and lifestyle.
The first of its kind, the blog was at the forefront of content marketing in the real estate industry and was featured by the Dallas Morning News: Dallas developer devotes staffer full time to blog and tweet.
Over 3 years I published over 800 posts on the site, developed a comprehensive, 300-page business directory and drove dozens of earned media mentions.
Results were incredible:
- 60% of residential and commercial leasing leads influenced by or directly from the blog
- 32% premium for the product
- Rents raised 50% over four years
- 600+ “Ask Kendall inquiries (200/year)
- Dallas Design District named “It” district by New York Times
- Content marketing platform renewed for 4 years (while other marketing initiatives were cut)
