Hi, I’m Kendall.
I’m a marketing executive, brand builder, lifelong learner and enthusiastic starter-of-projects based in Austin, Texas.
I built my first website when I was 11 and have been fascinated by the way ideas, words, design and technology can shape people’s decisions ever since. Nearly 20 years into my career, I’m still happiest when I’m learning something new, solving a complicated problem or helping turn a good idea into something much bigger.
I have a serious case of GSD — Get Stuff Done — and can accomplish more in an afternoon than most people would reasonably attempt in a week.
That usually means I’m not just the person with the idea. I’m also thinking about the people, processes, technology, presentation and 47-item checklist required to make it happen.
A marketer who likes both sides of the brain
I love brands, writing, design and beautifully executed creative work.
I also love systems, automation, attribution, dashboards and figuring out why something is, or is not, working.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to build marketing teams, reposition companies, launch brands, create content engines, direct major creative productions and develop the infrastructure connecting marketing to sales and revenue. Most recently, I built an in-house agency from the ground up that grew to 17 full-time employees and more than 20 interns.
But this is the About page, not my résumé.
The more useful thing to know is that I’m endlessly curious, I ask a lot of questions and I rarely accept “that’s how we’ve always done it” as an answer.
When I’m not working
I’m a wife, mom, volunteer, reader, writer, decorator, crafter, frequent party host and enthusiastic pursuer of whatever new interest has recently captured my attention.
Audible remains one of my most-used apps. Business, leadership and marketing books are my comfort reading. Marketing conferences, smart conversations and a freshly opened Notes document to fill with new ideas are my happy places.
I love spending time with my family, playing tennis, decorating spaces, baking things that are unnecessarily elaborate and finding creative projects that inevitably become more complicated than originally planned.
